El tema de la homosexualidad masculina en Tres ensayos de teoría sexual de Sigmund Freud

  • Norman Marin-Calderon Universidad de Costa Rica

Abstract

Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality is a fundamental text where Freud unfolds his first theory on male homosexuality. There, he refers to it in terms of “inversion”, different from “perversion”: the first constitutes a deviation regarding the sexual object (Objekt) while the second is in relation to its goal (Ziel). Likewise, such Freudian theory on male homosexuality is supported based upon the difference between drive (Trieb) and instinct (Instinkt). According to Three Essays, for Freud, homosexuality is not a pathology, but just a particular way to come to terms with one’s sexuality in accordance with the relation a subject has with his own unconscious desire.
